The Folkestone Air Raid

This bombing raid saw the death of almost 100 people - including many children.

Edward Stephen Gould, Richard Ashby Graves,  Edith Mary (Edie) Grimes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edward Stephen Gould - age 39, Edward was a stableman and was with Richard a work colleague when the bomb exploded. No gravestone in place, buried in section 20, grave 1871 Richard Ashby Graves - age 40, Richard was a stableman at the Pavilion Stables and was with his fellow stableman Edward when the bomb exploded. Gravestone in place, buried in section 20, grave 1854 Edith May (Edie) Grimes - age 24, Edith was a typist employed by Messrs Atkinson and Stainer. Gravestone in place, section 7, grave 338   These brief descriptions were taken from ‘A Glint In The Sky’, author Martin Easdown with Thomas Genth.
