The Folkestone Air Raid

This bombing raid saw the death of almost 100 people - including many children. 

Names (D)

Frederick Charles Day, Sarah Jane and Edith Agnes Dicker ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Frederick Charles Day - age 47, a grocers assistant who apparently died from a heart attack caused by the shock of the explosion. No gravestone, buried in section 7, grave 335 Sarah Jane and Edith Agnes Dicker - age 41 & 13 respectively. Sarah was the wife of the manager of the Maypole Dairy and mother of Edith. Memorial in place, section 20, grave 1702. These brief descriptions were taken from ‘A Glint In The Sky’, author Martin Easdown with Thomas Genth. The book which is well worth ordering contains much more detail about each person.
