The Military

Over the last 150 years Folkestone and district has been a very fashionable place to visit attracting many well connected people - as well as being the place where many senior military figures retired when they left service. As we discover significant military memorials or plots we will add them to these pages.

Lieutenant General Robert Cannon

This monument in the cleared area makes interesting reading, Lieutenant General Robert Cannon had a long military career. Deciphering the right side has defeated me for the moment, I'll take more photos in different light, perhaps that will help me. I think the top panel is a continuation of his military career, the bottom panel names a child, Amy Josette. (Front) In affectionate memory of Lieutenant General Robert Cannon Behram Pacha K. S.
